Badrinath Dham is a major pilgrimage site in Uttarakhand's Char Dham Yatra. Millions of devotees visit the temple every year. This year, due to clear and favorable weather, the number of pilgrims has increased significantly. More than 1.6 million pilgrims have reached Badrinath Dham so far. Devotees are eager to know the date of the 2025 closing of the doors of Badrinath Dham.

Badrinath Dham Door Closing Date 2025

This year, the closing date of the doors of Badrinath Dham has been fixed for Vijayadashami (October 2, 2025, Thursday).
The doors of Shri Badrinath Dham will be closed for the winter season after five pujas (worship rituals) on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at 2:56 pm during the auspicious time.

When will the Panch Puja begin?

The Panch Puja will begin on November 21, 2025, before the closing process begins.

  • November 21 - Worship of Lord Ganesha and closing of his doors.

  • November 22 - The doors of the Adi Kedareshwar and Trimurti temples will close.

  • November 23 - Sword-book worship and recitation of Vedic verses will be performed.

  • November 24 - Special offering to Goddess Lakshmi.

  • November 25 - The doors of Shri Badrinath Dham will close for the winter season.

After this, on November 26, Rawal Ji and his ancestors will depart for the ancestral seat in Pandukeshwar and the Shri Nrisimha Temple in Joshimath.

Ceremony and Announcement

The date for the closing of the doors was announced by Rawal Ambani Namboodri during a religious ceremony held at the Badrinath Temple complex. Present on the occasion were Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) President Rahul Dev, Vice President Rishi Prasad Sati, Chief Officer Vijay Prasad Thapliyal, Religious Supervisor Radhakrishna Thapliyal, along with several other stakeholders and Veda scholars.

The Yatra and Finale So Far

So far, this year, under the BKTC, over 1.4 million devotees have visited Badrinath Dham and over 1.6 million have performed Darshan. A total of over 3 million devotees have visited both shrines.

Closing Process According to Religious Traditions

Several religious ceremonies are performed as per traditional customs before the closing of the doors.

Preparations for the 2026 Yatra Year

On the occasion of the closing of the doors, as per the tradition of the new Yatra year 2026, a "Turban Presentation for Bhandara Seva" will be held. According to the BKTC media in-charge, preparations have already begun for the grand closing ceremony on Vijayadashami.

Closing dates for not only Badrinath but also the Panch Kedarnath Dhams have been fixed on Vijayadashami.
