Preparations Underway for the 'Doli' Procession and Temple Opening of the Second Kedar
The gates of Madhyamaheshwar Dham—the second shrine among the Panch Kedar—will be opened for devotees this year on May 21. The Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee has initiated all necessary preparations for this event.
Madhyamaheshwar Dham Opening Date 2026
The schedule for the opening of the Dham's gates is as follows:
May 17: The *Utsav Murti* (ceremonial idol) of Baba—the movable deity—will be brought out from the sanctum sanctorum of its winter seat, the Omkareshwar Temple (Ukhimath), and installed in the *Sabhamandap* (assembly hall).
May 19: Baba's ceremonial *Doli* (palanquin) will depart from the Omkareshwar Temple for Madhyamaheshwar Dham.
May 21: The gates of the Dham will be opened in accordance with traditional rituals and ceremonies.
Following the opening of the gates of the First Kedar (Kedarnath) and the Third Kedar (Tungnath), the administration and the Temple Committee are now focusing their entire attention on the arrangements for the Second Kedar—Madhyamaheshwar Dham Opening.
