The holy Chardham Yatra 2025 of Uttarakhand has once again regained its glory. Since the beginning of the Yatra this year, a huge increase has been seen in the number of devotees. The enthusiasm of the pilgrims has doubled due to the situation becoming normal after the Indo-Pak ceasefire. This information was shared by Uttarakhand Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj himself.

Chardham Yatra Regains Its Glory: Ceasefire Had a Direct Effect

Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj said that after the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, the situation in the border areas has improved, which has also had a positive effect on Chardham Yatra. Now devotees from the country and abroad are reaching Uttarakhand in large numbers. 

He said, "Now again the enthusiasm is being seen among the devotees about the Yatra, which has given new energy to the tourism sector."


So Far 29 Lakh Devotees Have Registered

Chardham Yatra 2025 started on 30 April, and so far more than 29 lakh passengers have registered. The minister said that the waiting list is getting longer in trains going towards Prayagraj, Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Dehradun.

So far, about 8 lakh devotees have visited the four Dhams, which makes it clear that this time the Yatra is reaching an unprecedented level.


GMVN Gets Advance Booking of ₹12.68 Crore

The Garhwal Mandal Development Corporation (GMVN) run by the Uttarakhand government is getting tremendous response from the pilgrims this time. From February 2025 till now, GMVN has received bookings worth ₹12.68 crore, which is considered a major achievement for the tourism revenue of the state.

The state government has improved the facilities of the guest houses and lodges of GMVN, so that the devotees are not facing any inconvenience in staying.


Adi Kailash and Om Parvat Yatra Also Started

Along with Chardham Yatra, Adi Kailash and Om Parvat Yatra located in Uttarakhand has also started from 2 May 2025. So far 3256 innerline permits have been issued. This journey is also becoming a special attraction for the pilgrims.


Kailash Mansarovar Yatra Starting Again After 5 Years

There is another big news this year – Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025 is being started again. This journey is being started again after a gap of five years and it will be operated by Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam, Nainital. For Details Check Now


Key Information Related to the Yatra:

  • The Yatra will start from 30 June 2025

  • A total of 250 pilgrims will participate, five teams of 50 each will be formed

  • The first team will go to China from Tanakpur via Dharchula via Lipulekh Pass on July 10

  • The last team will return on August 22

  • This time Almora and Chaukori have also been added to the Yatra route

  • Keeping in view the safety of the health of the pilgrims, medical examination facilities are being provided in Delhi
