Chardham Yatra 2025: Flood of faith, five and a half lakh devotees reached the four Dhams in 12 days
This time in Chardham Yatra 2025, an amazing view of the faith of the devotees is being seen. It has been only 12 days since the yatra started and so far more than 5,50,505 devotees have visited the four Dhams - Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. Be it bright sunshine or heavy rain, the weather has also bowed down to the devotion of the devotees.
Chardham Yatra 2025 was formally started on 30 April 2025 with the opening of the doors of Yamunotri and Gangotri Dham. After this, the doors of Kedarnath Dham opened on 2 May and Badrinath Dham on 4 May. From the very beginning of the yatra, tremendous devotion and enthusiasm has been seen, which is becoming stronger with each passing day.
According to government figures, till May 11, a total of 5,50,505 devotees have visited the four Dhams. Out of these, 55,034 pilgrims visited on May 11 alone:
Dham | Darshan on May 11 | Total Darshan till now |
---|---|---|
Yamunotri | 10,773 | 1,12,507 |
Gangotri | 9,866 | 94,251 |
Kedarnath | 20,424 | 2,26,583 |
Badrinath | 13,971 | 1,17,164 |
It is clear from these figures that the maximum crowd is gathering in Kedarnath Dham. In view of the huge number of devotees, the administration has strengthened many arrangements.
Kedarnath Dham, where more than 2 lakh devotees have reached within just 9 days of the opening of the doors. On April 30, when the doors were opened, 30,000 pilgrims alone had darshan of Baba Kedar. The next day this number was 25,000, and now 18 to 20 thousand devotees are reaching for darshan every day.
In view of the presence of such a large number of devotees, Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee and Administration have extended the darshan time so that no pilgrim faces inconvenience.
During Chardham Yatra 2025, the challenge of weather has also come to the fore. Somewhere strong sunlight, somewhere rain tested the devotees, but the faith of the devotees is so unbreakable that even the weather could not break their spirits. Devotees are waiting for their turn by standing in queue for hours, without any complaint.
A unique sight in this Chardham Yatra is that the feeling of patriotism is also at its peak among the pilgrims. Amidst the Indo-Pak tension, people are visiting Chardham with slogans of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' and 'Bharatiya Sena Amar Rahe'. This proves that both faith and patriotism reside in the soul of the Indian people.
Both the Uttarakhand government and the local administration are alert at every level to make Chardham Yatra 2025 safe and organized. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami himself is taking updates of the status of the journey every day. Monitoring of travel routes, medical facilities, food and water arrangements and security - every aspect is being monitored.
The reconstruction efforts after the 2013 Kedarnath tragedy have given a new look to Kedarpuri. The result of the development schemes being run by Prime Minister Narendra Modi is that today Kedarnath Dham has emerged as a modern, organized and beautiful pilgrimage site. This is the reason that now devotees are arriving in large numbers not only from the country but also from abroad.
Now that the summer holidays are about to start in schools, the administration hopes that the number of devotees will increase even more rapidly in Chardham Yatra 2025. For this, additional security personnel, doctors, guides, and volunteers are being deployed. Also, the online registration system is being made more smooth so that the process of darshan remains smooth.
The road conditions have been improved and helicopter services have also been made available for the convenience of devotees during the journey, especially for elderly and differently abled pilgrims. With these efforts, the Chardham Yatra has now become even more accessible and safe.
Chardham Yatra 2025 is once again proving that when it comes to faith, no obstacle can stop Indian devotees. Bad weather, long journey or other difficulties – everything is proving to be dwarf in front of faith. The darshan of five and a half lakh devotees in 12 days is a historic achievement. This journey is not only important from the religious point of view, but is also extremely valuable for the economy, tourism and cultural pride of Uttarakhand.
