The Uttarakhand government has taken a major initiative to promote Chardham Yatra as Green Chardham Yatra. This year, EV charging stations have been started at 25 places on the Yatra route, making it more convenient to travel by electric vehicles. This step encourages E-charging stations on Char Dham Yatra route and makes a significant contribution towards making Uttarakhand pollution free.
The government led by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has resolved to organize this year's Char Dham Yatra as a green journey. In this direction, a total of 38 EV charging stations are being developed in collaboration with the Transport Department and THDC, out of which 25 stations have been started before the start of the Yatra.
All these Chardham Yatra EV charging stations are equipped with 60 KW universal chargers with two charging guns of 30 kW each. These stations are installed on GMVN properties, allowing travellers to charge their e-vehicles easily and safely.

Uttarkashi, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Mangalore, Roorkee
Barkot, Syanachatti, Phoolchatti, Janakichatti

Gairsain, Kaleshwar, Nandprayag, Pipalkoti, Auli
Pandukeshwar, Badrinath, Syalsaur, Guptkashi, Sonprayag, Ghansali
Char Dham Yatra EV Charging Stations are now available at all these locations, making the journey safe and eco-friendly for the travellers.
According to the Tourism Department, charging facility has been started at four guest houses operated by GMVN in Rudraprayag district alone. With this, EV users will no longer have to worry about any charging in the Chardham Yatra.
In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Green India vision, this initiative will not only inspire travelers towards e-vehicles, but will also establish Uttarakhand as an eco-friendly tourism destination.
