A worrying news has come from Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. The bus of devotees on the Gangotri Dham Yatra met with an accident between Dharasu and Nalupani on Gangotri Highway. It is being told that the bus lost balance at a sharp turn and overturned on the road. There was chaos in the accident and screams were heard among the passengers.

Devotees Had Come From Madhya Pradesh

This bus had left for Gangotri Dham Yatra from Madhya Pradesh. There were about 41 pilgrims on the bus, out of which 8-10 people were injured. Immediately after the accident, local people and passengers started relief work. As soon as the information was received, Uttarkashi Police and Disaster Relief Team (108 Ambulance Service) reached the spot and all the injured were admitted to the nearest hospital.

Some People Were Discharged After First Aid

According to preliminary information, many of the more than 30 passengers on the bus have suffered minor injuries. Some have been admitted to the hospital while others were discharged after first aid.

Cause of Accident Not Yet Clear

Investigation into the causes of the accident is underway. At present, the driver's negligence or poor road conditions are believed to be the reason behind it. The administration has started checking the fitness of the bus and the driver's driving license.

Accidents Have Happened on Gangotri Highway Before As Well

It is worth noting that such accidents have happened on Gangotri Highway before as well, especially during the Chardham Yatra when the traffic pressure increases. The administration has appealed to the passengers to travel only with trained drivers and fit vehicles. Also, exercise full caution in view of the weather and road conditions.
